Ashley Koff, R.D.

What it Means

Ashley Koff, R.D. is often asked the same questions by her clients and associates:

  • What should we be eating?
  • Are all products created equal?
  • We developed an exceptional nutritional product, how do we differentiate ourselves to customers?
  • We know that we could offer a better nutrition product to the marketplace – how do we make it happen?

AKA grew organically from these questions. AKA means “Yes, you can” and “Yes, you should.” Whether it’s a product, a menu, or a recipe, the AKA stamp confirms that it has been reviewed and approved by Ashley Koff, R.D. as a higher quality, healthier choice. It does not contain any nutrition “no, no’s,” its marketing message is truthful and it fits into a nutrition plan for optimal health.

Please note that AKA does not trump personalized advice for those with any medical conditions. Those taking medications and/or are under the care of a medical professional, should seek nutrition recommendations that are tailored to individual needs. Ashley Koff, R.D. offers personalized nutrition advice addressing medical conditions or any risk factors that may be a concern.

Certified Gluten-Free

What it Means

A gluten-free diet is a diet that excludes the protein gluten. Gluten is found in grains such as wheat, barley, rye, and a cross between wheat and rye called triticale.

Why It Matters

The gluten-free diet is a treatment for celiac disease. Some people who don’t have celiac disease also may have symptoms when they eat gluten, however. This is called non-celiac gluten sensitivity.

People with non-celiac gluten sensitivity may benefit from a gluten-free diet. But people with celiac disease must be gluten-free to prevent symptoms and disease-related complications.

Kosher Certified

What it Means

For over 80 years, the Orthodox Union has maintained the highest standard of kosher certification. NuttZo products are manufactured under the supervision of the Kashruth Division of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations and are certified as kosher and pareve.

Why It Matters

It’s no more nutritious, better tasting or less expensive than other food. The answer is in the question – and no where else. OU does much more than ensure the highest standards of Kosher Certification.

People with non-celiac gluten sensitivity may benefit from a gluten-free diet. But people with celiac disease must be gluten-free to prevent symptoms and disease-related complications.

Non-GMO Verified

What it Means

The Non-GMO Project, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, offers North America’s only third party verification and labeling for non-GMO (genetically modified organism) food and products.

Why It Matters

This seal indicates that NuttZo has gone through a verification process. This verification is an assurance that a product has been produced according to consensus-based best practices for GMO avoidance.

Quality Assurance International

What it Means

Independent, third party certification of organic food systems has been the foundation of domestic and international organic food trade. QAI verifies that the organic integrity is maintained from the land on which the product is grown, to the producers growing the product, to the post-harvest facilities preparing the product, to the processing and handling facilities transforming the product.

Why It Matters

Founded in 1989, QAI offers verification services ensuring that the organic integrity of food and fiber products is preserved from seed to shelf. QAI offers innovative, comprehensive certification programs that allow producers, trading companies, manufacturers, private labelers, restaurants and retail distributors to guarantee their products meet the regulatory guidelines or standards applicable to their specific needs.

USDA Organic

What it Means

This food, or a high percentage of ingredients in this product, was farmed according to national standards for use of renewable resources, conservation of soil and water, and without use of antibiotics, growth hormones, most conventional pesticides, artificial fertilizers, bioengineering, or ionizing radiation.

Why It Matters

Eating foods and using health and beauty products that are USDA Organic certified reduces your exposure to pesticides while supporting agricultural practices that enhance the environment instead of harming it.
