Nut Butter That Gives Back: The Story Behind Project Left Behind

When you grab a jar of NuttZo, you’re not just choosing a delicious and real nut butter—you’re joining a movement. A movement that’s nutritious on the inside, with mission at its core.

That mission is called **Project Left Behind**, and it’s at the heart of everything we do.

🌍 How It All Started

Over a decade ago, NuttZo founder Danielle Dietz-LiVolsi adopted two sons from Ukraine. As she worked to nourish them with real food, she also knew it was time to help more children in need access quality nutrition.

She started NuttZo to deliver healthy, whole-food nut butters for families—and quickly realized nuts and seeds do so *much* more than nourish.

But Danielle also saw something bigger: the need to support children who still live in orphanages around the world, especially in underserved areas.

So she created Project Left Behind, a non-profit that helps provide nutrition, education, and care to children in need.

“I created NuttZo to help nourish my own kids. But I knew I couldn’t stop there. Every child deserves love, opportunity, and a future. That’s why Project Left Behind exists.”

—Danielle Dietz-LiVolsi, Founder & CEO, NuttZo & PLB

💛 What Project Left Behind Does

Project Left Behind focuses on helping children in orphanages and underdeveloped communities by supporting:

  • Nutrition programs
  • Education initiatives
  • Care and support for caretakers
  • Local projects in Peru

We partner with small, on-the-ground organizations that know their communities best—so the impact is real, lasting, and personal.
